Pregnancy and Postpartum Mental Health

Pregancy and Postpartum Mental Health

Pregnancy and having a baby is not always a joyful experience, even after infertility.  In fact, at times you may be feeling anxious, sad and overwhelmed, all the while, guilty because you worked so hard to get there.  You may feel alone in what you are going through but in fact it's very common.

One in five new moms experience mood and anxiety changes during pregnancy and after the birth.  In addition to going through the biggest change in your life, sudden hormone swings can make you feel tearful, anxious and sad.  Your whole world has been turned upside down!

Whether you are pregnant, sleep deprived with a new baby
or trying to manage being a new parent, you are not alone and
you deserve to feel better!

How Counseling Can Help

  • In spite of hormone changes out of your control, learn ways to manage your stress and mood better.

  • Learn ways to promote emotional and physical reconnection with your partner and lessen conflict.

  • Learn to give yourself permission to take care of yourself without feeling guilt or shame.

  • As a new parent or pregnant, some of your sleep is out of your control. Learn how to improve the sleep you are getting.

  • Safe place to share your experiences and talk about all the changes you are experiencing.
